The Karen Traviss Factor

The Direct revealed the studio consulted the author of the Gears novels — the books that contain most of what's ever been written about Marcus and Dom's pre-war years. Fawcette's framing: the books let the team fill "negative space" rather than invent — Dom "had a full-on family. He had two kids. He had a brother that died before the war. That was Marcus's friend. There were tensions."
